Dragonball - The Pilaf Saga

A boy named Goku is walking in the woods, carrying a gigantic fish, when he is struck by a speeding motorcycle. The driver, Bulma, is amazed that she hasn't killed the boy, and Goku is frightened of the new creature. Bulma takes Goku home, and finds that he has a dragonball, like the others she has been collecting. Bulma explains the myth of the dragonballs to Goku, and he agrees to accompany her on her trip. Since Bulma already has two balls and Goku also has one, they set out with three.

The next morning, while training, Goku discovers a turtle and insists that they return him to the sea. Upon bringing the turtle to the sea, the turtle's master Kamesennin appears and gives Goku Kinto'un, a magic flying cloud, in thanks for bringing back his turtle. Noticing he has a dragonball around his neck, Bulma manuevers to get it to add to their collection. Kamesennin, in classic character, only agrees to give it to her in exchange for a peek at her panties, and Bulma obliges.

Using Bulma's dragon radar, they find a town where the next dragonball should be found. Upon arriving, they find the inhabitants terrified of a monster known as Oolong. Agreeing to defeat the monster in exchange for a dragonball, Goku takes on Oolong, and quickly discovers that the shape shifting pig isn't really so tough. Oolong runs away, and Goku chases him. When they catch Oolong, they collect their dragonball and take him along on their journey.

Traveling through the desert in search of another dragonball, the adventurers are set upon by the famous desert bandits, Yamcha and Puar. Yamcha is managing to get the best of Goku, albeit just barely, and has him defeated until Bulma comes along. Since he is paralyzingly afraid of women, Yamcha has no choice but to run away. Learning of the dragonballs, though, leads him to follow the adventurers at a safe distance, in hopes of stealing their dragonballs.

When they reach the place where the dragonball is located, they find that it is in a castle on Fry Pan Mountain, which is always on fire. Besides that, it is home to the evil Ox King and his daughter Chi-chi. The Ox King is all set to kill them for attempting to steal his treasures when he recognizes Kinto'un and asks Goku all about Kamesennin, his former master. At this point things become very friendly and Ox King sends Goku to Kamesennin's to get a magic fan, which will extinguish the great fire. On the way there, Goku picks up Ox King's daughter Chi-chi and proposes to her while giving her a ride to Kame House, although he doesn't know it. When they reach Kamesennin's, the old man is unable to find the magic fan and promises to return with them and put out the fire himself. Powering up, he blasts the mountain with a huge Kamehameha, not only putting out the fire but also destroying the entire mountain. Using the dragon radar, however, the dragonball is located and retrieved from the rubble. Goku mimics the Kamehameha attack, and amazes everyone by managing to get an energy blast. Seeing this, Kamesennin invites him to come train someday.

The sixth dragonball comes from the next town they visit, which is being terrorized by the imfamous rabbit gang. When some of the gang members show up on the scene, Goku beats them up and they are forced to call their Master, a giant Rabbit. He has the power to turn people into carrots at his touch, and he does this to Bulma. Using Naibo, his magic staff, so as to avoid touching the Boss Rabbit, Goku thoroughly thrashes him until he is convinced to restore Bulma and the grateful townspeople give Goku and Bulma their dragonball.

At this point, the plan hits a snag as Shuu and Mai, servants of the evil Pilaf, steal all of the group's dragonballs. With the help of Yamcha and Puar, Goku, Bulma, and Oolong all go to Pilaf's castle to get them back. While there, they are caught and imprisoned in a dungeon with a glass roof that will bake them alive at sunrise. They try desperately to escape, but to no avail. Seeing Pilaf is about to summon the dragon, Goku uses the new Kamehameha technique to blast a hole through the wall, which although small, is large enough to allow Oolong and Puar to change shape and escape. As Pilaf calls Shenron, Oolong runs forward and wishes for a pair of panties. His wish is granted, the dragonballs scatter, and Pilaf's plans are foiled, but the adventurers are still stuck and sentenced to death. When Goku looks at the full moon, he transforms into a large monkey monster, utterly decimating the cell and destroying Pilaf's entire castle. Now that they're free, Yamcha catches him by the tail, and Puar turns into a giant scissors to cut off his tail. Goku then reverts to his normal self, and the adventurers are free as Pilaf and his henchmen run for their lives.

After the escape, Bulma explains that the dragonballs will turn into ordinary rocks for one year before they can be used again. That said, they go their seperate ways. Bulma and Yamcha begin dating, with Puar and Oolong tagging along, and Goku heads for Kamesennin's island to receive his special training.

When Goku gets to the island, Kamesennin says that before he can train, he must find a bouncy girl and bring her to the island. After a few very botched jobs, Goku finally figures out what Kamesennin means and finds an appropriately attractive girl. Around the same time, Kuririn shows up on the island. He is also seeking martial arts training from Kamesennin, and he starts out being Goku's biggest rival. They perform all sorts of tasks for Kamesennin in their training and when the Tenchi Budocki, the World's Greatest Fighting Tournament, rolls around, they are ready to go and fight.

The tournament starts with many fighters and there are fights to eliminate the warriors down to the final eight. Among those remaining are Goku, Kuririn, and a mysterious fighter named Jackie Chun. Kuririn gets defeated, but Goku reaches the finals against Jackie Chun. They fight long and hard, matching each other blow for blow, until both fighters are knocked to the ground. The ring announcer says that the first fighter to get to his feet will be declared the winner. Though Goku tries valiantly, Jackie Chun reaches his feet first and is the world champion. He reveals that he is really Kamesennin in disguise, and that he only stopped Goku from winning the tournament so that Goku wouldn't get a big head. With the tournament over, they return to their training.
