Rom

Rom is a little orphan boy who lives with a whole colony of orphans on a little seaside beach. When Gohan runs home from his training during the Saiya-jin saga, he and his friend Chico find Gohan washed up on the beach and nurse him back to health, inviting him to stay with them at their house. They spend most of their time running from local orphanage workers that want to bring them to homes. A older boy named Picoro usually protects them, but in the end he lets Rom and the others be captured since the orphange workers can give the children a better life than he can.
