King Cold is a Freeza's father, a changeling. He is cruel and ruthless just like his son. He comes to the remains of the planet Namek after hearing about his son's battle, intent on finding Freeza and with no thought of Freeza possibly being killed in the explosion. He does manage to find a very small piece of Freeza's organic body that is still alive and he immediately brings it to his best medical workers who are able to restore Freeza with cybernetic parts. At his son's request, King Cold brings his ship to earth for Freeza's revenge.
Somewhat aloof and royal, King Cold doesn't understand why they don't just blow up the planet but tags along anyway when Freeza lands on earth just incase something interesting happens. When Trunks shows up, King Cold isn't impressed and chides his son for not being able to kill the boy. Then when Freeza dies, King Cold becomes a little more alarmed. He offers Trunks the position of galactic ruler/tyrant, but Trunks turns that down. King Cold then asks to examine Trunks' sword and decides aloud that without that sword, Trunks is nothing. He attacks with the sword, but Trunks catches it in his bare hand and blasts King Cold in the chest. Lying there dying, King Cold begs for his life but Trunks just blasts him one more time, killing him.
