![]() ![]() Kami next appears when Piccolo-Daimao breaks loose on the earth. Because they are tied together, if Piccolo-Daimao dies Kami dies as well, but when Goku kills Piccolo-Daimao, the evil Namek passes his life essense and ties into an egg that grows to become Piccolo. Kami then trains Goku until the next Tenkaichi Budocki. Kami goes to the tournament as Shen, bent on defeating Piccolo, but though he reaches the fight with Piccolo he does not win, leaving the job for Goku. Kami next appears in the Saiya-jin Saga after Goku's death, and he convinces Emma Daio to allow Goku to train under King Kaio, then returns to earth and trains Yamcha, Tienshin-han, Chaozu, Kuririn, and Yajirobei on his lookout to prepare for the Saiya-jins. During that fight, Piccolo is killed and therefore Kami dies as well and the dragonballs revert to normal rocks. Kami comes back to life when Piccolo is revived and supervises a plan to gather earth's dragonballs and restore life to everyone killed by Freeza. He begins to notice that while Piccolo is not yet a model citizen, his heart is in the right place and he no longer serves evil, causing Kami to contemplate turning over his post to Piccolo. He is captured by Garlic Jr. after Freeza's death, but Piccolo and the others rescue him, allowing he and Mr. Popo to go to the center of the four winds and spread the Sacred Water to free earth's people from Garlic Jr.'s spell. On the way, Kami is nearly killed by the former guardians' spirits, but he convinces them to let him pass by reminding them of his obligation plus just a little brute determination.
Kami makes his last appearance in the Cell saga. Piccolo comes to him, asking to combine back into one being to save the earth, and after much contemplation Kami realizes that the threat of Cell is too great and agrees. They reform in Piccolo's body and the new being is known as Piccolo, so Kami is never seen or referred to again.
