Freeza
Freeza appears in the Freeza saga as the ultimate warrior in the universe. He is a changeling and ruler of an entire army if planet conquering warriors, essentially a emperor by force of the universe. He used to be the controller of the Saiya-jin forces as well, but legends of a Super Saiya-jin that would defeat him scared Freeza into destroying the entire planet, leaving only four Saiya-jins alive in the entire universe.
He comes to Namek to find the dragonballs and wish for immortality. During the time on Namek, Freeza delegates much of the work including gathering the dragonballs to his henchmen, mainly Zarbon. When he is dissatisfied with Zarbon, he summons his elite Ginyu fighting force, who get the dragonballs but he cannot figure out how to use them. Frustrated, Freeza takes matters into his own hands.
Freeza goes to Guru's where he demands to know the words that should be used to summon the dragon. Guru refuses to tell him and Nail leads Freeza off to a fight as a distraction while the Dende helps the earthlings use the dragonballs. Freeza beats Nail within an inch of his life, then notices Nail is laughing. Nail reveals what has happened with the dragonballs, and Freeza is so outraged he races off to stop them and use the dragonballs himself without even bothering to kill Nail.
When Freeza arrives, the dragon disappears since Guru has died. Freeza begins to fight Vegeta, and Vegeta is impressively effective against Freeza, and at Vegeta's request Freeza makes his first transformation. Now that he is larger and has large horns, Freeza is also stronger and immediately spears Kuririn, nearly killing him, but Gohan is upset by this and beats Freeza to the ground. Freeza recovers, dazed but not hurt. Piccolo arrives then and he starts to defeat Freeza, forcing Freeza to undertake his second tranformation, becoming a monster with a long armored face. Now stronger once again, Freeza is able to defeat Piccolo, but Vegeta has been powered up by being nearly killed then revived and he is able to defeat Freeza, sending Freeza into his final transformation from which he emerges as a lithe, smooth white skinned warrior. Now he is stronger than everyone and kills Dende to prevent anyone else from being healed, then takes on Vegeta and defeats him, leaving him a bloody mass on the ground.
Freeza seems to have won, but then Goku arrives and shows that he can match Freeza easily, move for move without much trouble. Vegeta begins to speak and tells Goku how Freeza destroyed their world and that he can beat Freeza. Freeza is bored and kills Vegeta, outraging Goku who flies into a rage and pounds on Freeza. Since he is in his final form and losing, Freeza starts to actually power up and takes over control of the fight, beating Goku without even reaching 100 percent of his power. Then Goku begins to gather energy for a gigantic Genki-dama, but Freeza can't figure out what he's doing. Becoming bored, Freeza starts attacking Goku again but Piccolo comes into the fight and distracts him long enough that Goku can finish the Genki-dama and throw it at Freeza, crushing the tyrant deep into Namek's surface.
Freeza comes back, more or less unhurt, but very angry and shoots Piccolo then kills Kuririn, sending Goku into his Super Saiya-jin transformation. Now Freeza is being beaten badly and realizes that he won't win against Goku, so he shoots a blast into Namek's core that will destroy the planet, knowing that he can survive in space but Goku cannot. Goku is beating him so hard that it seems Freeza might still get killed, so he reveals that he still isn't at full power and Goku says he will let him reach his full power, sure he can beat Freeza even at his best. Freeza spends a couple minutes gathering energy, then his body becomes much more musculer. In this form, he lays into Goku and actually seems to be winning, and when he drives Goku deep into Namek, Goku doesn't come out.
Freeza thinks he won, but then Gohan arrives. Gohan doesn't defeat Freeza, but fights him just long enough that Goku has time to make it back and resume the fight. Now Goku is beating Freeza with no trouble at all. Seeing Freeza is getting weaker, Goku announces that he won and starts to leave. Unwilling to give up, Freeza creates and energy disk and hurls it at Goku. The disk follows Goku constantly and Goku flies at Freeza, pulling up at the last minute to try and make Freeza get hit by the disk, but Freeza scoffs at the ploy and hurls another disk at Goku. This time Goku flies at Freeza from behind. Freeza ducks, then stands again and is sliced in half by the energy disk even as Goku warns him to watch out. Goku starts to leave but Freeza grovels pathetically, begging for his life and Goku gives him a little of his own energy so that Freeza can move and try to escape, then leaves. Freeza uses this energy to send a final blast at Goku, but Goku creates and even larger blast that engulfs Freeza's and fries Freeza.
Freeza's next, suprising, appearance is later on in the series. His father, King Cold, comes to Namek's ruins and finds a fragment of Freeza's body. Using cybernetics, Freeza is rebuilt with many artificial parts and he heads for earth to kill all of Goku's friends in revenge. He arrives on earth and is met by Trunks, who quickly kills Freeza's entire army then turns into a Super Saiya-jin, stopping all Freeza's insults and terrifing him to the bone. Freeza blasts Trunks twice, with no effect, then Freeza creates one of his planet destroying blasts to kill Trunks, but Trunks catches it in one hand and is unharmed when it explodes. Freeza thinks he has killed Trunks until Trunks blasts him from a nearby clifftop and the next thing Freeza sees is Trunks above him, slicing down with his sword. Freeza is cut in two diagonally across his torso and dies. He appears a few more times through the series, causing trouble in the afterlife, but he is always easily defeated.
