Dende

Dende is a young Namek who first appears in the Freeza saga. His village is being destroyed by Freeza and his goons when Gohan and Kuririn fly in and save him. Kuririn takes him to Guru's who is very grateful. Dende returns a few more times on Namek, once when Guru tells him to go and tell the earthlings how to summon the Namekian dragon. Dende reaches Gohan and Kuririn, summons the dragon, and makes their wishes for them in Namek. He is about to make Vegeta's wish at Kuririn and Gohan's urge when Guru dies and the dragon disappears. Dende also helps during the fight with Freeza, heaaling Piccolo, Gohan, Kuririn, and Vegeta when they are injured, but then Freeza notices what he's been doing and kills him in a single blast. When earth's dragonballs are used to revive everyone on Namek, it is Dende who rushes to the dragon to wish for everyone to be transported to earth. Back on earth, he stay with all the other Nameks while the dragonballs are used to bring back all of the Z fighters, then goes with his people to New Namek.

He comes back into the series at the end of the Cell saga when Piccolo offers him the position of guardian of earth, which he accepts. As earth's guardian, Dende powers up the dragonballs so that they can grant two wishes and can grant a wish repeatedly.
