Chaozu

Chaozu is a little emperor who travels with his bodyguard, Tenshin-han. They are the best of friends and share a telepathic link. Chaozu is a relatively strong warrior in dragonball, as he is able to control his ki, and participates in the first Tenichi Budockis. He is killed during Dragonball, but Goku helps Tenshin-han find the dragonballs and bring Chaozu back to life. During Dragonball Z, Chaozu doesn't seem to get any stronger and quickly falls off the show.

Before the fight with the Saiya-jins, Chaozu trains with the other warriors at Kami's Lookout, and he goes to battle the Saiya-jins when they arrive. During that battle, Chaozu grabs onto Nappa's back and self destructs in a desperate effort to fell the mighty Saiya-jin, but Nappa survives the blast unharmed. Chaozu appears again on King Kaio's planet with Yamcha, Tenshin-han, and Piccolo, who are their training while everyone else is on Namek. Chaozu keeps up with everyone there, and manages to defeat Guldo when the Ginyu Force invades the planet, at King Kaio's invitation. Chaozu returns to earth when the Namek dragonballs are used on earth for the second time, since they can revive someone numerous times. From then on Chaozu is there with Tenshin-han while he is training, but when battles roll around, he has to sit out, generally with Kamesennin at Kame House.
